Lotusland website

We are very fortunate to have our November PSSC meeting at Lotusland, the world class botanical garden in Montecito (next to Santa Barbara). Lotusland is world renowned for its superb cactus and cycad collections and also known for its palm, bromeliad and

fern gardens.

Lotusland is closed to the public during the three winter months, BUT will open for our meeting day for our members and guests! John Rees has negotiated the normal $35 per person admission fee to be reduced to $10 for each of us. This is truly a bargain. The fee will be paid on the meeting day at the entrance kiosk. Lotusland is providing tables and 36 chairs for our potluck lunch and meeting site, and Lotusland docents will give guided garden tours. Lotusland will even provide some of their own palms for the auction.

Schedule:
10:00-12:00 AM Tour Lotusland
12:00 Noon Pot luck lunch and socializing
1:00 PM Meeting, auction, raffle

Parking:
There are 40 parking spaces for visitors inside the entrance. There is NO street parking
allowed within one mile of Lotusland since the garden is nestled within a neighborhood. It is VERY IMPORTANT to follow this rule. The Lotusland operating permit with the county government limits the number of visitors and prohibits street parking. If members disregard this restriction we will jeopardize our chance to be invited back for future visits.

To be fair to our members driving from distant locations, all of the 40 parking passes must be
reserved by phoning John Rees at (805) 559-5995 or fax name and telephone number to (805) 482- 9672. Passes will be allocated giving priority to those car pooling, and on a first come basis . Your name and phone number will be entered on a pass list that will be at the entrance to the garden. Please consider car-pooling, parking a car near downtown Santa Barbara or elsewhere outside Montecito. Another option is to take a taxi to the entrance of Lotusland. There will be an electric golf cart to carry all the donated plants from the parking lot.

Directions to Lotusland:
In Montecito take the Olive Mill Road off-ramp off the 101, turn RIGHT on Olive Mill Road then LEFT on Hot Springs Road. Turn RIGHT onto Sycamore Canyon Road. Proceed up to Cold Springs Road and turn RIGHT. Ganna Walska Lotusland is the First Driveway on the RIGHT. Enter and proceed to the Kiosk check in.
